Don't give up!

We always hear the encouragement, don't give up! But do we really have to be that stubborn?

Given a situation, when you are learning about something that is new or unfamiliar to you, lets say you are doing accounts, if you give up and stop halfway, then you will never balance your balance sheet, never get to finish an account. When you tell yourself to "not give up!", then this is a good challenge and should be fostered to keep up the good work. That's why we often see people with good results and good accolades, they are either smart, or they really worked HARD! These people who worked hard, they will understand the meaning of "don't give up!", because they went through the hardship of learning and finally, they mastered everything and achieve good results, kudos then!

Another situation to debate on, is love. Let's say, given a situation, where a guy likes a girl. But the girl seriously have no affection for the guy, but the guy told himself that I am not giving up! Will you call this stubborn or perseverance? We cannot force two people into doing something they dislike, but being stubborn or not giving up will help?

I have 2 cases to share with. Lets start with the first.

(A) I have a friend, his name is ABC, when we were in the same class in form 4, he likes this girl who was 1 year younger than us. This girl didn't like him at all, and she rejected this friend of mine like a million times. But because this friend of mine did not give up, he showed her his love and everything you can think of. 2 days ago, I happened to see his name in my facebook list, I kinda checked on his photos and stuffs and guess what? I saw him with this girl already, I guess they are together right now because of their status and also their photos posted on facebook.

BUT WHAT IF~

(B) Another case where a guy DEF likes a girl, but she again showed no affection for this guy. She rejected him also. But the thing is, no matter how he tried, the girl will never like him. What should he do then? Move on or to show his perseverance and hope to be with her one day? Bear in mind that in case A, my friend spent like 5 years to only get a chance to be with her. In reality, these kinda situation doesn't always happen, the chances are very dim.

I think in this case, giving up (in a good way) is really a smart choice, because by letting go:

@First, we will set free ourselves to the world of freedom, learning to love again.
@Second, we will not be as pessimistic as we were because there are always good things in life that we deserve having them.
@Third, and this is very very important to remember. If that girl has a lover already, why would you want to be the 3rd party? Creating scars on people's relationship and also wounding your owns? I've seen such cases in reality, and I really couldn't accept things like that. Thus, giving up on such occasion actually saves 3 hearts, not just your own.

That's why, we have to know when to give up in life. Giving up doesn't always mean that we're useless or impotent. If we do it in the right time and correct way, then we're actually helping ourselves and helping others. However, in some other cases, giving up really meant that we're useless. This is especially true when it comes to growing up and learning to achieve something.

So, don't give up easily, and when you do, please do it for a good reason. Nobody will call you stupid for giving up chasing after a girl that doesn't belong to you. But you will find yourself together with another person very soon. At that time, you will find yourself silly in the past.
